Asus ROG Phone Release Date, Pricing- Hardcore gaming smartphone could hit the shelves in late October

Asus unveiled the first hardcore gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone, in June 2018. Nearly 4 months after the launch date, the hardware has yet to release and hit the shelves due to some reasons.

Now, a listing of the Asus ROG Phone on the Chinese e-retailer claims the smartphone will finally be available in the global market by the end of October. It’s noteworthy that the company has not yet revealed the official date of availability.

The listing on GearBest, part of ShenZhen Globalegrow E-Commerce Co Limited, allegedly confirmed that the Asus ROG Phone will begin shipping between October 22 and October 24. GearBest is selling the Asus ROG Phone global versions with 128GB and 512GB storage options that costs at $1,320 and $1,620 respectively.

Apart from two storage options, the Asus ROG Phone ships with a 6-inch AMOLED display at 2160 x 1080 resolution. The gaming phone is powered by a 2.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC processor and 8GB of RAM.

The ROG Phone packs with the custom Optiflex, which is Asus’ technology that speeds up the phone. OptiFlex helps maximize the performance of ROG Phone’s memory by automatically keeping the frequently-used apps in the memory as long as possible to prevent longer waiting times every time the apps reload.

As for other key components, the handset features a dual-lens rear-facing camera setup — a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 f/1.7 primary sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front, you’ll get an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

Moreover, the hardcore gaming cellular device is powered by a whopping 4,000mAh battery capacity and supports Quick Charge 4.0 in which the phone can be charged from 0 to 60 percent in just half an hour. There’s also a proprietary technology called HyperCharge that counteracts the phone from overheating when charging.

During the launching event of the Asus ROG Phone, the CEO Jerry Shen indicated that its will be released in a number of Asian markets by the third-quarter of the year.

The Asus ROG Phone is also confirmed to release in the United States, however, there’s still no details on its pricing. This hardcore gaming phone from Asus will directly compete against the Razer Phone.

There is no direct confirmation from the company when is the release date of the Asus ROG Phone, but the listing with shipping information at GearBest says it all.
