Google may eventually release a completely new Pixel 3 XL design

Over the past few weeks, there have been relentless dripping of leaks about the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL so far prior to its official launch date, and none of them have completely blown our mind — thanks to an unimpressive designs with a oversized notch on the topmost and not to mention the thick chin of the phone.

Leaksters have even uploaded the unboxing and hands-on videos of the Pixel 3 XL on their channels, complete with sample photos allegedly taken from the aforementioned flagship.

However, there are few who have been conjecturing that the Pixel 3 XL leaks were utterly fake and were orchestrated by Google itself to hang on to the surprise for October 9th event in New York City. In that event, the Mountain View-headquarted company is widely expected to announce the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. And there’s some proof of that with the latest Android Pie 9.0 software update.

Slashleaks’ forum member has even posted a purportedly leaked screenshots of the “Device Setup” from the Google Pixel 3 XL with an Android Pie update. All over the setup screen, Android 9.0 keeps referring to an image illustrating a bezel-less handset phone. The visual aid shows the absence of neither the notch nor chin. Additionally. the illustration even shows a power button and the volume keys side by side.

A short video clip also mimic a fingerprint reader on the back of the device with a signature Pixel-style dual-tone rear casing. Moreover, the Edge Squeeze feature which was first seen on the Pixel 2 could also be making its comeback to the new iterations.

Based on what have so far about the intriguing leaked Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones for 2018, it’s nowhere close to the illustrated device used for the setup. There could be a huge probability that the search giant is imitating at other OEMs with the leaked prototypes for their notches and substantial bezel on the bottom of the front end panel. That said, Google could have something in store that will completely blow our minds for its October 9 event.

There have some truly bezel-less smartphones that are already available in the market from Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi and it is likely that Google could finally address a revolutionary design and features to its Pixel lineup instead of following the wave in the mobile industry.

It should be worth noted that these are completely based on rumors, speculations and leaks from and should be taken with a grain of salt.
