Google’s next-generation flagship smartphones Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are both scheduled to launch in October 9th in New York and Paris, France. In the past few months, there have been a bunch of Pixel 3 XL leaks has had surfaced online. Not only the press renders and actual photos pre-production units of the Pixel 3 XL have been heavily-leaked over the worldwide web, the phone also got a hands-on reviews.
Chinese e-retailer has recently listed the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL with high-resolution renders at JD.hk online store. Now, the ever reliable notorious leakster Evan Blass has tweeted a high-definition renders that reveal the front appearance design of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
The Pixel 3 XL will allegedly ship with a 6.7-inch OLED display whereas its smaller sibling Pixel 3 will hit the shelves with a 5.4-inch screen. The Pixel 3 is widely rumored to support an aspect ratio of 18:9 and the notched display of the Pixel 3 XL could reportedly equip a 19:9 aspect ratio.
The Pixel 3 XL has a prominently noticeable notch, which houses the dual-lens selfie cameras and front-facing speaker, on the topmost part of the display. As for the bottom area, it has a large chunk of bezels intended for another stereo speaker.
The notchless Google Pixel 3, meanwhile, comes with a fat-sized upper and bottom bezels that houses the dual front-facing stereo speakers. Also on the top bezel, there is a dual-lens camera setup. It is widely rumored that the dual camera system of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL will include an 8-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture and another 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Moreover, both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC processor coupled with a 4GB worth of RAM. Both the third-generation Pixel flagships are believed to ship with a on-board storage of 64GB, 256GB and 512GB. Another feature coming back to the Made by Google smartphone is the support for Qi wireless charging.
Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Release date
Backing up earlier leaks and rumors, the Mountain View-headquartered tech company has confirmed the launch date of its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, which is on 9th of October. As for Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL availability, we’re seeing a release date a couple of weeks late and preorders should go live a week after the unveiling event.
Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Prices
We don’t yet know how much the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will cost when it go on sale, with the search engine giant managing to fend off that details under blankets. If anything like the Pixel 2 and 2 XL, expect the 64GB storage configuration base models of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to start at $649.99 and $849.99, respectively. However, due to added components — including additional front-facing camera, wireless charging module and among others — on the Pixel 3 devices, it will likely increase the pricing of new Pixel by $50-$70. Upgrading to the 128GB model from either handset will add $100 to the receipt.
Google’s October 9 hardware events in New York and Paris will formally debut the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Apart from the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, Google is also expected to officially introduce a number of refresh hardware including Pixelbook 2, Pixel Buds, Home Hub smart display and Pixel Charger stand and among others.
The Google Pixel Stand is believed to be an official wireless charger. The Google Home Hub smart display is speculated to have a 7-inch tablet-style display and Google Home Max-esque stereo speaker that double as a dock.
