Magnitude 5.2 quake hits Zambales, Magnitude 5.4 in Davao Occidental

Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts in Davao Occidental on Sunday morning, and magnitude 5.2 in Zambales at early evening. The latter quake’s tremors also felt in Metro Manila.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Zambales on Sunday night, June 17 an authority from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) stated.

Maila Advincula, a science research assistance of the agency, confirmed to Centrio News that the earth tremor hit San Felipe, Zambales at around 5:46 P.M..

Phivolcs also recorded an Intensity IV shake in the San Feliper. Meanwhile, Intensity III rocked Cainta, Rizal; Intensity II in Quezon City, Pasay City, Mandaluyong City, Olongapo City, Guagua in Pampanga, and Marikina City; and Intensity I in Muntinlupa City, Pasig City, and Tagaytay City.

Philvocs did not receive any report of damage in the said affected areas.

An aftershocks are expected from the earthquake, Philvocs added.

On Sunday morning, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake was felt in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. Philvols said that the quake has occurred at around 10:39 a.m.

The epicenter was tracked down at 05.99°N, 125.77°E – 021 km N 56°E of Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental.

The depth of the earthquake was recorded to be at 122 kilometers wide.  The Centrio News
