HMD Global made the Nokia 7 Plus official back in February 2018 and just recently, the device won the best “Consumer Smartphone” award from EISA in Europe alongside the Huawei’s Honor 10 and P20 Pro. That said, it was as a result of making the handset available at an affordable price without sacrificing its specs.
While the Nokia 7 Plus is still selling like a hot cakes, the Finnish company appears to be planning to raise the competition by releasing the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The alleged images of the purported Nokia 7.1 Plus has recently emerged online. The latest leaked photo seems to show a different design from the earlier leaks that showed a notch-less Nokia 7.1 Plus. But in this new leaks, the handset comes with a notched cut out on the topmost area of the display.
The leaked press render of the Nokia 7.1 Plus gives us an idea of what it will look like. Looking at the photo, it shows that the phone will clearly ship with a notch display design. The design is quite identical to that of the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus is rumored to ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 10nm octa-core SoC, 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of on-board ROM as well as 18W fast charging support.
The back panel of the Nokia 7.1 Plus also looks very much alike of the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Some of the differences includes the ZEISS badge that is positioned at the middle of the vertically-stacked dual-lens camera setup. The rear panel also houses a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is also a clear evident of the Android One brand logo at the bottom. It only suggests the Nokia 7.1 Plus will run Google’s stock Android OS, but we’re not sure whether it will come with pre-installed Android 9.0 Pie or the Oreo.
