Now Telecom officially launches 4G LTE wireless internet services

Now Corporation officially launched NOW Telecom that will bring 4G LTE wireless connectivity to both commercial businesses and residential homes.

In a press release, the newly-launched telecommunication company will offer two fixed wireless services — NOW LTE Businesses and NOW LTE Home. These will be powered by a staunched 4G LTE spectrum and is powered by Israeli company focused in 4G telecommunications. Telrad Networks is a leading 4G telecommunications solutions provider with more than three hundred 4G deployments in more than 100 countries.

NOW Telecom is promising intermittent, constant connections without data cap, and will be targeted to SMEs, remote workers, and home-based entrepreneurs. “We see a good case of providing the Philippine market with fixed wireless LTE, especially for small and medium enterprises and residential communities in areas that have limited or no fiber optic access,” said Rene Rosales, NOW Telecom COO.

The setup is quite similar to earlier Globe/Smart internet services where open-air antennas are needed to set up an internet for fixed wireless users. Additionally, a subscriber will be given a mobile number with 0979 prefix.

NOW Telecom will begin rolling out 4G LTE service offering in select cities in National Capital Region (NCR) including Makati, Manila, Pasay, Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Quezon City and BGC in Taguig.

Telecom is also aiming to launch its 4G LTE services in key cities in Visayas and Mindanao — Cebu and Davao — by the end of the year. As for the NOW Telecom’s 4G LTE plans and pricing, the company has yet to announce the details.
