The OnePlus 6T official launch date is just around the corner and it’s approaching very fast, and as the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s tradition, the teasers are starting to emerge online. With today’s first official teaser video clip from the OnePlus itself, the technology company is seemingly suggesting at the in-display fingerprint sensor on the impending flagship.
A short teaser video clip on the company posted on Twitter is telling us significant factors. The tech titan cements the “OnePlus 6T” model name as its next generation flagship. OnePlus isn’t fan of divulging the launch date of their product, unfortunately, but it does have a description that the handset is “coming.”
More notably here, though, is what the video shows. The six-second clip teases “Unlock The Future” with the OnePlus 6T, with an animation at the start hinting at the fingerprint sensor in the display which the company confirmed not long ago. While we don’t know exactly what kind of sensor the 6T will be using, the illustrated “beams” coming up from the surface here hint at an ultrasonic solution, but details are simply unknown at the moment.
The very short video clip last for just six-seconds and teases “Unlock The Future” with the OnePlus 6T with graphic effects at the beginning of strongly hinting at the in-display fingerprint sensor.
While we don’t know precisely what biometric technology will the company incorporate on the OnePlus 6T, the “beams” coming up from the surface here strongly suggests at an ultrasonic solution from Qualcomm, but the company has yet to confirm this for now.
The company has already revealed that the OnePlus 6T will get an in-display fingerprint sensor, making it the first OnePlus handset to offer the biometric technology. Other BKK Electronics subsidiaries and OnePlus sister companies — Oppo and Vivo — have already released smartphones with the in-display fingerprint scanner.
In addition to posting the first teaser for the smartphone, OnePlus has also launched “The Lab: OnePlus 6T Edition.” The aforementioned program hands out the upcoming flagship phone early to keen fans to let them share their views and opinions via an in-depth review about the device.
“We’re looking for 10 more people to join us in this tradition. The selected will have a common mission – to go hands on with our latest product and share with the community your in-depth review.”
“Once selected, we’ll send you a review unit of the OnePlus 6T, and you’ll be amongst the first ones to receive the OnePlus 6T all over the world. Share your detailed unboxing impressions and in-depth review with our community, and you just might become the next influential voice in tech!”
The OnePlus 6T will come with a water-drop-esque notch on the middle topmost area of the display, an in-display fingerprint reader, dual-lens main camera on the back, and is reported to have a 3700mAh capacity battery.
Once the OnePlus 6T releases in the wild, the phone will be available in the United States through T-Mobile.
