Google has threw out invitations to the press and media outlets for a special event on October 9th that will certainly be the official launching of the comprehensively leaked Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Android smartphones.

There’s not much to go by from the invites in terms of hints — just a simple “I <3 NY” characters, which effortlessly suggests at the Pixel 3 with the numerical number three “3” in the heart emoji icon, but the leaked handsets are already scattered over the Internet, the Mountain View-headquartered company likely doesn’t need to do much more to market the announcement.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the third iterations of the Google-branded Pixel smartphone series that was first launched dating back in 2016. In the past few weeks, dummy and prototype units of both handsets have made their way into the wild, providing the public a an early glimpse very of what to expect from Google’s October 9th event.

Both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are widely anticipated to receive some design improvements, including a somewhat controversial large notch on the latter phone and a glass sheet on the rear to enable the wireless charging on both smartphones. Moreover, both handsets will also feature dual-lens front-facing cameras as well as a single rear shooter. Other leaks has indicated that the Pixel 3 will have a 5.5-inch display, with a 2160×1080 resolution.

Google’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL may have already leaked, but last year’s launch event was also where the search giant unveiled an entire bunch of consumer electronics products, including the Pixelbook, Google Home Mini and Home Max speakers, Pixel Buds, and Clips. So there’s a wide space for another surprises on October 9th.

As for Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL release date, we’re expecting both devices to hit the shelves a couple of weeks after the official announcement. The pre-orders for the new 2018 Pixels will be opened a week after the launch.

Despite rumors, leaks and speculations that have swirling around over the past few months, we shouldn’t expect to see a Google-branded wearable smartwatch, as the tech company has confirmed that it has no plans to release not a single one this year.
