The game may have started a couple of hours overdue due to a lightning, but the Singapore Management University (SMU) Mustangs football and Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs football teams stepped into the gridiron immediately after the delay.
The SMU Mustangs took the opening kickoff and went 75 yards on five plays, including a 51-yard touchdown run from Braeden West, to secure a 7-0 lead against the TCU the Horned Frogs. The latter’s tackling was dull early on, as multiple footballers missed tackles that they usually make, and the defensive line was propelled around.
The first drive was a favorable change from last week’s SMU offense, which had a couple of first downs and 46 yards through the first three periods of a 46-23 defeat to the hands of TCU. The Mustangs outdone both figures on its first drive to take a quick 7-0 lead on the Horned Frogs.
The contest pushed SMU Mustangs down to 0-2 and moved TCU Horned Frogs up to 2-0 as a result. Next week The TCU will play with the Ohio State Buckeyes at 8:00 PM. As for the Mustangs, they will be playing against the Michigan Wolverines. — The Centrio News/ CentrioNews.com
