Crash Landing On You Finale Episode 16: Here’s Why CLOY makes us fall in love with K-Drama again

The much-anticipated Korean drama’s final episode was televised on Sunday, February 16, and fans are still not over with “Crash Landing On You.”

That chemistry between Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin

The intense romance chemistry between lead Hallyu celebrities Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, who portrays Ri Jeong-hyeok and Yoon Se-ri respectively, is so overwhelming that fans have speculated that they are dating in real life. However, the two have denied the allegations not once but twice. The magnetism is quite obvious even when off-cameras.

Son Ye Jin’s comedic stunts

Son Ye-jin has had little chance to show off her comedic acting skills. In Crash Landing on You, Ye-jin proves that she can do romantic-comedy just as well melodrama, resulting to a pretty impressive comedic appeal. No wonder why Captain Ri fell in love with Se-ri.

You get an idea what its like to live in North Korea

According to North Korean defector Kang Nara, around 60-percent of what’s represented on the Crash Landing on You drama regarding the life in North Korea is quite accurate. Nara does confess that it’s highly doubtful that there’s a captain as hot as Hyun Bin in the solitary territory.

Captain Ri’s North Korea Squad

Who woudn’t hook up with the 4 loyal troopers in Ri Jeong-Hyeok’s squad: Pyo Chi-su, Park Kwang-beom, Kim Ju-Meok, and Geum Eun-dong. It’s touching how much the squad want to protect, care, help and have come to love the Se-ri’s Choice CEO. Also, some of scenes in Seoul are some of the funniest on the series most especially their ignorant feelings about the South Korea.

The North Korean Aunties

Se-ri may and the nosy ajumma neighbors did not get along well in the first half of the series, but it doesn’t take long before she secures the hearts of these aunties of North Korea. The lovely gesture Se-ri made in the finale of the series to celebrate their friendship and let them know that she hasn’t forgotten them is greatly heartwarming. Se-ri releases a spring collection of beauty products and named them after the aunties of North Korea. Such a lovely move.

CLOY makes us fall in love with Switzerland

Switzerland plays an pivotal part in the Crash Landing on You’s storyline, so there are quite a handful of scenes in the scenic country that will make you want to bagpacking immediately. And because they can’t film in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the South Korea and Mongolia had to stand in for North Korean’s shoot location. Considering that filming in DPRK is virtually impossible, the scene where Se-ri and Captain Ri departed and arrival on a train in PyongYang were all filmed in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Epic cameos of big stars

Kim Soo-hyun from one of my personal favorite Korean drama “My Love From the Star” reprises his role as Won Ryu-hwan from the movie Secretly Greatly. In the film, he portray as a North Korean spy who was sent to the heart of South Korea, in Seoul.

Stairway to Heaven main star Choi Ji-woo also makes an appearance, when Se-ri keeps her promise to K-Drama diehard fanatic Ju-Meok and arranges for him to meet and have a dinner with his ultimate crush.

The Crash Landing On You final episode has the highest finale rating for a TvN series, shattering the previous record set by Goblin. – CentrioNews.com
