Xiaomi Mix 3 receives new software update, announces MIUI 10 global stable beta testers

Just a few week after rolling out an Android 9 Pie beta software update to the Mi Max 3, Xiaomi is now gradually releasing a new stable MIUI 10 upgrade to the Mi Mix 3 slider smartphone. The latest Mi Mix 3 MIUI 10 software update features new slider sound effects, bug fixes in the slide settings and among others.

The update push the software version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 to MIUI and eats 2.1GB of the flagship phone’s storage. The major feature of the new software update comes in the form of new settings associated with the mechanical slider. The new update incorporated a slide setting support for self-timer, tool drawer, launch app, and other functionalities. Mi Mix 3 owners can opt from a library of five slider sound effects.

After getting the MIUI software update, these new features can be accessed in Mi Mix 3 settings under slide settings.


In addition to the new slider sound selections, there’s also an additional feature called “One Push and Reach” which basically allows users to launch a certain app when sliding down the front panel. The latest MIUI software update fixes bugs when using the LED flash and glitches in graphics while using the Mi Mix 3’s Night Mode.

The MIUI software update is currently being released to the Mi Mix 3 owners in China. Xiaomi also announced that looking for a beta testers of the global stable update of MIUI 10 on the Mi Mix 3.

The Mi Mix 3 was officially announced back in October and made available in early November. The Mi Mix 3 features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU, with 6GB/8GB/10GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options.

Moreover, Xiaomi has incorporated a magnetic slider design that houses the 24MP Sony IMX576 selfie snapper paired with a 2MP depth-of-field sensor. As for the rear-facing shooter, it comes with a dual-lens 12MP + 12MP camera system. The Mi Mix 3 runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 10 out of the box, and a 3,850mAh capacity battery with fast charging and 10W wireless charging.
