Xiaomi’s budget-friendly sub-brand smartphone, Pocophone F1, hit the market a couple of months ago sporting a Snapdragon 845 SoC for only $300. Finally, the smartphone arrived in Europe with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model for €370. Now, the mid-range phone with a top-end processor made its way to the United States.
The cheapest Snapdragon 845 chipset-powered smartphone has hit the B&H Photo Video shelves for only $370 with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Unfortunately, the Pocophone F1 Dual-SIM 64GB unlocked international version is incompatible with the CDMA networks of Verizon and Sprint. Additionally, the Pocophone F1 also does not have the LTE bands to work on AT&T and T-Mobile’s 4G networks.
The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will operate with wireless carriers only on the 1900 MHz frequency for 3G mobile networks. That said, you’d need sacrifice the limited data speed, should you want to purchase the less expensive smartphone.
Xiaomi Pocophone F1 features a notched 6.18-inch LCD display and 3D Face Unlock and 20-megapixel selfie snapper. Additionally, it also comes with 12MP + 5MP rear-facing camera setup with f/1.9 and f/2.0 apertures, respectively.
Apart from the eight-core Snapdragon 845 CPU and 6GB of RAM, the Pocophone F1 ships with Adreno 630 GPU. There’s also built-in LiquidCool technology, NFC and microSD card support up to 256GB .
Unlike other Xiaomi’s Mi smartphones, its less expensive sub-brand smartphone has a tidier user interface dubbed as MIUI 9 with lesser pre-installed bloatware. Pocophone F1 also comes with an enormous 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support for fast charging.
The 6GB RAM/64GB ROM global version of Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is up for pre-order with a retail price of $370 in Graphite Black or Steel Blue colorways. The 128GB storage configuration models, on the other hand, is priced at $400.
The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 received a lot of praises from the tech bloggers, Vloggers and press media. Mainly because Xiaomi managed to equip the smartphone with the top-tier processor for a price of a mid-range smartphone. If only the Pocophone F1 is compatible with any or two of the US carriers’ LTE 4G network, this phone will definitely be one of the top-selling mid-range smartphone. Still, the Pocophone will be among the best holiday gifts on Black Friday 2018.
